The Night Hoops charity basketball program is thrilled to be celebrating our 20th Anniversary season. The program has a sustainable model of supporting Inner City youth, teaching them Life Skills and developing leaders from within.
The Night Hoops program is a community-based league for teenage boys and girls, and it runs primarily on weekend evenings. The goal is to use basketball as a vehicle to promote personal development and community engagement. There are no cuts, it is free for all players and the program is active in Vancouver, Burnaby, and North Vancouver.
Thanks to the Vancity Community Project Grant program, Night Hoops is able to deliver Life Skills Workshops on the following topics:
Financial Management and Spending Habits Basic Banking Personal Budgetting and Tracking Spending Financial planning and Goal Setting Credit Cards Types of Loans and Credit Score Taxation and Filing Identity Theft Prevention Introduction to RRSPs, ERSPs, and TFSAs

The mission is to encourage healthy life choices for youth through the context of a pro-social late-night basketball program. But the personal growth and development does not end there.
